“Possessed” is a photographic work that was inspired by contact with such trees in various places as her imagination and curiousity grew from witnessing them. She creates space for her dreams with a visual overlay technique similar to the overlapping of time and the length of bondage. And in time the series evolved into a mixture of reality and dreams. The artists was always aware of the natural elements and of fragments from her own memories of that night. She tells of the hostile vine that aggressively wraps its victim in bondage slowly and without mercy. It is like a dark force that envelopes, eats away, and deforms the original body. From this perspective the artist can compare the two trees to forces of darkness, caste systems exploitation, and also brainwashing of and confidence in society structures that have existed in the past.

“I had a dream, something was possessing a tree.

It had transformed into something resembling a human being,

I walked slowly into the forest. The forest was bleaker than I ever imagined.

I asked the tree, “What happened to this land?”

But the tree just stood there lifeless. Suddenly,

I felt like a monster, a homeless spirit without a land.

I woke up from my dream.

The feeling still remains in every fraction of my memory.

My soul had momentarily slipped out of my body.”

 

 

“ฉันฝันเห็นบางอย่างกำลังสิงร่างต้นไม้ มันกลายร่างคล้ายกับมนุษย์ แต่ไม่ใช่ บางต้นมีรูปร่างผิดแผกจากธรรมดา ความโหดร้ายเริ่มพร่างพรู ครอบงำกิ่งก้านไปด้วยอำนาจมืด มันซีดเซียวไร้ชีวิต ฉันเดินอย่างเชื่องช้าเข้าไปในป่า ป่าเยือกเย็นกว่าที่ฉันเคยจินตนาการ ความมืดหม่นปกคลุมไป ทุกหนแห่งฝังรากลึกจนกลายเป็นหนึ่งเดียวกับป่า ฉันเอ่ยถามต้นไม้ เกิดอะไรขึ้นกับดินแดนแห่งนี้ แต่ต้นไม้ก็ยืนโดดเดี่ยวอยู่อย่างนั้น ฉันรู้สึกถึงความไร้ตัวตน ดั่งวิญญาณสัตว์ประหลาดจากดินแดนที่ไร้ผู้คน. ฉันสะดุ้งตื่นจากความฝัน ความรู้สึกยังคงอยู่ทุกเศษเสี้ยวของความทรงจำ วิญญาณฉันหลุดออกจากร่างไปชั่วขณะ.”
